Ultrasound Scans

You can access both ultrasound services and x-ray on a self-referral basis, on the same day. Where a GP referral or opinion is required, our GPs are on hand to ensure you not only need to use the service, but also without waiting times.

Ultrasound is one of the safest and most straightforward methods of medical imaging. It uses sound waves that reflect differently depending on the density of the tissue, allowing doctors to examine soft tissues but not bones. Ultrasound is ideal for looking at the structure, density, and size of internal organs.

Common Uses for Ultrasound

  • Doppler (blood clots)
  • Abdominal pains
  • Thyroid examination
  • Skin lumps investigation
  • Non-invasive imaging avoiding the need for biopsies (if appropriate)

  • Abdominal Aorta Doppler Scan

X-Ray Services

X-rays are a quick, non-invasive way to diagnose bone fractures and lung infections, typically requiring no special preparation. Should you need further services or referrals into NHS fracture clinics, we can assist also.

Bone X-Rays
