Our ADHD Assessment Process

Understanding ADHD

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Symptoms typically begin in childhood, appear across different settings (such as home, school, or work), and can affect daily life.

Our process

1. Get in Touch Contact us and we’ll take a few quick details to get you started.

  • Pricing: adult (18+) ADHD assessment: £900
  • child ADHD assessment (5+): £850

2. Book Your Assessment Choose a time that suits you. Assessments are carried out by experienced ADHD specialists.

3. Pre-Assessment Complete a short questionnaire and share any helpful background information. We need extra information, such as school reports, other diagnoses, EHC / EHCPS or mental health documentation.

4. Your Appointment Your assessment takes place at 159 Princes Avenue, Hull and lasts around 1–2 hours, using the recognised DIVA-5 ADHD assessment. Our clinician will ask you a variety of questions using the DIVA-5 which aligns with the DSM5 diagnostic criteria. They may also ask other questions about your childhood or adolescence and your current lifestyle.

5. Your Results Receive a detailed clinical report with your diagnosis and next steps. We aim to have this to you within a week of your appointment - sometimes this process takes a bit longer. At this point we can discuss treatment planning and management, which is a separate paid for service.

Treatment planning and management

ADHD Treatment Planning: £500

Take the next step after your ADHD assessment with our specialist-led treatment planning service. We’ll help you find the most effective way to manage your symptoms and determine whether medication is right for you.

What’s Included

  • Personalised ADHD treatment plan
  • Medication assessment and prescribing (if appropriate)
  • 3 prescriptions (approximately 3 months of medication)
  • Dose titration and adjustments
  • Ongoing monitoring of effectiveness and side effects

This period allows your clinician to carefully adjust medication to find the most effective dose with the fewest side effects.

Safe, Specialised Care

Before starting treatment, we carry out a comprehensive medical review including your health history, current medications, blood pressure, and heart rate to ensure medication is safe and suitable.

Ongoing Support

Your progress will be closely monitored by our clinical team. Once your medication and dose are stable, your GP may take over repeat prescriptions through a shared care agreement, while our specialists continue to oversee your care.

Common questions

ADHD Assessments, answered

How long is the wait for an ADHD assessment?
Weeks rather than years. We book assessments directly, so there is no referral queue to join and no NHS waiting list to sit on.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book an assessment directly with us, and you do not need to leave your NHS GP to do it.
Do you assess children as well as adults?
Yes. We offer separate assessments for adults and for children, because the process and the paperwork differ.
What happens after the assessment?
You get a written report. If medication is appropriate, we offer titration and ongoing medication reviews, and we can arrange shared care with your NHS GP where they agree to it.
Will my NHS GP accept the diagnosis?
Most do, and we write the report with that in mind. Shared care always depends on your individual GP practice agreeing to it, so it is worth asking them before you book.
Can I talk to someone before committing?
Yes. We offer a free triage call so you can ask questions and work out whether an assessment is the right next step before you pay for anything.
